Right so in a moment of madness I’ve gone and joined the YouTube world.
As many of you know, radio is my thang, but I don’t have immediate access to a radio studio at the moment, so I’ve decided to set up a little YouTube channel instead.
The YouTube world is an all-conquering force where in 0-10 minutes, ThePersianBabe will have 35,672 views on her video talking about the best, and I meant THE BEST, clarifying acid toner, or a goat will scream on a mountain somewhere in Wales, someone will video it, and before you know it, 98% of 15-25 year olds are spending their evenings googling ‘funny screaming goats’.
But it’s soooo tricky to come up with something new that hasn’t been done before. There’s only so many times I can watch a YouTube star do the cinnamon challenge, put Nutella on their face or tell you how to apply the perfect smoky eye.
So, here’s what I’ve done. I’ve decided to snoop round as many bedrooms as poss and film it.
Well not quite.
I love new music, and have always been particularly passionate about local music where I live in Reading. On my gap year I presented a show on a community radio station in Reading where I interviewed a local band every week and got them in the studio to do a live session, so now I’m basically doing the same thing for YouTube, except it’s filmed in their bedroom!
“Why the bedroom thing?” I hear you ask, well the idea is that every band starts in their bedroom. London Grammar famously started making music in their bedroom, along with James Blake, Joel Compass and hundreds more. But no one thought to interview them in their bedrooms DID THEY? So that’s where I come in. I thought it would be cool to go to the band members’ bedrooms, have a little snoop around in order to get to know them a bit more, have a chat about their music and then film them doing a live session. That way if they ever get famous, then I can say I’VE BEEN IN THEIR BEDROOM. Imagine if someone had done that for One Direction, just sayin’.
The series is called ‘The Bedroom Sessions’ and I filmed my first ever one with the lovely OSP (who can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/ospmusicuk) the other week.

As usual, I always love feedback good or bad, so please comment or let me know what you think. I will never shout at you or tell you you’re wrong.
AND if you know anyone you think would love to do one, please tell them to get in touch.
Thanks for reading/watching/listening etc.
